輕井澤輕井澤位於長野縣東南部，淺間山的山麓平地上。四周為淺間山、鼻曲山、碓冰嶺等山峰所包圍，地處夏季氣候涼爽，海拔約1000米的高原地帶，這裏落葉松和 白樺樹生長茂盛，充滿清爽的綠意與西歐風情的異國情調，休閒設施豐富，在高原清涼的空氣中，享受運動、散步、購物之樂自然環境宜人，所以從19世紀末開始 就作為日本有代表性的避暑勝地而發展至今。春、秋的自然景觀也很漂亮。
