皇居位於東京中心，過去是德川幕府居住的城堡，現在則是日本天皇的官邸。皇居外苑內的二重橋，顧名思義就是兩座相重疊的橋；一座為「鐵橋」、另一座是人稱「眼鏡橋」的石橋，為東京有名的地標。在每年元月一日及十二月二十三日可進皇居參拜天皇。
