白樺湖位於長野茅野市北部蓼科山西麓，建於昭和21年是湖面海拔 1416 米、最深處達 9 米的人造湖，屬八岳中信高原國定公園。是一片被稱為「池之平」的濕原。據說白樺湖的名稱由來,是因其周圍生有許多白樺樹。
